LAKEWOOD – A 13-year-old boy was taken to a local hospital with a traumatic head injury after being hit by a vehicle on Route 9 Monday.
The boy was attempting to cross the highway on his bicycle just north of Omni Court.
He was hit by a 20-year-old Lakewood woman driving a gray Volkswagen Jetta, authorities said. He was thrown on the roof and dragged before the car stopped.
The boy was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center by Lakewood Hatzolah. There was no information released on the boy’s condition Tuesday.
The unidentified woman’s Jetta was impounded after police found it had an expired registration.
