LAKEWOOD – After a series of allegedly biased tire slashing incidents in the area, The Anti-Defamation League is stepping in to help find the suspect.
The Anti-Defamation League is a national organization working to “stop the defamation of the Jewish people, and to secure justice and fair treatment to all,” according to their website.
On August 10, Lakewood Police reported a series of over 100 tire slashing incidents in the Old Pine Acres section of the township. The suspect was caught on surveillance footage slashing the tires. All of the vehicles are reportedly owned or operated by members of the Jewish faith.
Lakewood Police are calling it a “bias” crime.
In an effort to help the investigation nail down the suspect, ADL is offering up a sizeable financial incentive of $5,000 for information that will lead to the capture of any individuals involved.
Police believe the suspect to be a male, wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Detectives Michael Cavallo or Kevin Martin at 732-363-0200
