Troops Thankful For Support

BERKELEY – Two soldiers came to thank local people who had been sending supplies to troops overseas.

U.S. Army Col. Yvette Rose and Command Sgt. Major David Swain came from Camp Shelby in Mississippi on Veterans Day, said Lloyd Mullikin, who collects items and ships them to overseas bases. Rose had returned from a one-year deployment to Iraq, where she received 26 boxes from Berkeley and surrounding communities.

Donations for troops can be dropped off at several of the senior community club houses in Berkeley Township, including Sonata Bay, Holiday City at Berkeley, Holiday Heights, Holiday City South, Holiday City West, Silver Ridge Park East, Silver Ridge Park North, and Silver Ridge Park Westerly.

Arrangements can also be made to pickup donations dropped off at businesses. organizations, or from individuals. Please call 732-269-1397 for more information.
