SEASIDE HEIGHTS – Seaside Heights began playing the Star Spangled Banner each morning on June 28, just in time for their annual Fourth of July celebrations. Inspired by Wildwood to begin the tradition of playing the national anthem, Borough Officials had been hoping to use their sound system to do the same.
A technician from the company who sold the wireless speaker program to the borough flew to the Heights to troubleshoot recurring problems with speakers.
“In the course of the service visit, he also installed equipment that will allow us to play pre-recorded music,” Borough Administrator Chistopher Vaz said.
The Heights was then able to begin using their upgraded sound system for the daily playing of the national anthem at 11 a.m. It will continue daily, holiday or not, Vaz said.
