Road Rage Incident Leads To Stabbing

  BERKELEY – Police are looking for more information about a road rage incident that turned violent Wednesday night.

  According to a police report, the incident happened at about 11 p.m. near the intersection of Veterans Boulevard and Harding Avenue. The cause of the incident has not been made known, but at the end of the night, one man stabbed another, who was flown to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune. The injuries were considered non-life threatening.

  The suspect, Scott Moore, 55, of Elizabeth Avenue in Bayville, was charged with Aggravated Assault and possession for a weapon for an unlawful purpose.

  He had left the scene of the crash on foot, but then called police and reported what had happened and awaited his arrest about a half mile away from the intersection. He had suffered cut wounds to his hands as a result of the attack. He was transported to Community Medical Center in Toms River. He was later released on a summons in accordance with the Bail Reform Act.

  Berkeley detectives and the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department Criminal Investigation Unit responded. More charges might be possible.
