Officer Saves Nonresponsive Toddler At Boardwalk

SEASIDE PARK – A police officer was recognized for his part in saving a child from choking over the weekend.

Officer Daniel Maguire revived an unconscious 16-month-old girl at the Park Arcade June 23.

Maguire, seeing the child was pale and nonresponsive, dislodged an obstruction in her throat by hitting her back.

The girl regained consciousness and was further treated by members of the Tri-Boro First Aid Squad.
