SEASIDE HEIGHTS – A Seaside Heights man won $2 million in a lottery scratch-off game in May.
Andrew Diaz purchased his winning scratch-off at the Wawa on Route 9 in Bayville. He played the $90 million Platinum Payout Scratch-Off in May, having purchased two tickets.
His first ticket was a dud. But the second one was a winner.
He shared the news with his brother, who at first didn’t believe him. But they drove to the New Jersey Lottery headquarters to validate the win.
“This is a life-changer,” he said. “Besides my children being born, this is the second-best feeling ever.”
Diaz told New Jersey Lottery officials that he plans to invest some of the winnings and put aside some for his children. He may purchase a larger home or get a new car.
