BERKELEY – A husband and wife are facing serious charges after a complaint led police to their township home. Inside, officers found 24 dogs living in deplorable conditions.
Berkeley Township Police said 49-year-old Luke Peters and his wife 42-year-old Alison Peters of Bayville allegedly had the dogs inside their Moorage Avenue home. A complaint call led to the warrant search in late October after some neighbors were concerned about the possibility of neglect.
The Peters’ were arrested and processed and were released pending a future court date.
Police said Berkeley Township Animal Control responded to the scene where the homeowners voluntarily surrendered their dogs due to the unsafe living conditions.
