BEACHWOOD – A serious accident involving multiple motor vehicles that ended with huge flames is now under probe by the borough police department.
Ocean County Scanner News was first to report the incident on Route 9, Surf and Admiral Avenues.
According to the Beachwood Volunteer Fire Department, the crash happened shortly after 9 p.m. on Wednesday, November 27. All occupants of the vehicles managed to escape with one person suffering a moderate injury as a result of the crash. Multiple scanner web sites stated that the injury was a broken leg.
Beachwood and South Toms River EMS responded to treat the victims.
The fire was quickly extinguished and the roadway was closed for approximately one hour.
The cause is unknown but anyone who may have witnessed the accident should call Beachwood Police at 732-341-1242.
