BERKELEY – After a crash shut down Grand Central Parkway, the driver was issued a host of charges for driving drunk with a child in the car
Matthew Sypniewski 29, of Beachwood, crashed into a tree and utility pole on Grand Central Parkway on Nov. 23, police said. The roadway had to be shut down for repairs.
Sypniewski was found to be driving while intoxicated with a female juvenile in the vehicle, police said.
He was charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Driving While Intoxicated, Refusal to Submit to Breath Sample, Driving While Intoxicated with a Minor, Open Alcoholic Beverage in Vehicle, Obstructing Administration of Law, Resisting Arrest, Failure to Maintain Lane, Careless Driving and Reckless Driving.
Multiple units responded, including Patrolman Ryan Drivanos, Patrolman Daniel Williams, Patrolman Nick Bondulich, Patrolman Robert Murawski and Sgt. Timothy Pizzella.
Sypniewski is considered innocent until proven guilty.
