BERKELEY – A fundraiser for Detective Phil Sickinger and his family will be held on Aug. 1, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Fubar, 140 Atlantic City Boulevard (Route 9).
The rain date is Sunday, Aug. 2.
According to a post on All Events, it was in 2018 when Detective Sickinger started to feel weak, after a physical and some routine bloodwork he was sent to an Endocrinologist to be treated for Hypothyroidism and Hashimoto’s disease hoping he would get well.
Unfortunately the symptoms continued and worsened. He was sent to many doctors and experts and after several blood tests, brain and spiral MRI’s, a painful muscle biopsy and two EMG tests he is currently battling Lyme Disease, Hypothyroidism, Hashimoto’s Disease, Mold Toxicity and two positive clinical diagnosis for ALS.
He and his wife Diana have spent over a year traveling throughout the country to see if there is a cure for his diagnosis. While dealing with all this he is raising his two daughters Olivia (8) and Harper (4) and he continues to serve his community as a Detective in the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office. This is taking a toll on the family financial.
This fundraiser will help him financially with travel expenses and other unexpected finances that may arise.
Tickets are $25 per person. There will be a cash bar, live music, and food available for purchase.
