SOUTH TOMS RIVER – A South Toms River man has been sentenced to three years in state prison for distributing child pornography, according to officials.
After pleading guilty to the charge in January, the 45-year old Randy Hull of South Toms River, was sentenced by Superior Court Judge James M. Blaney on June 1.
Hull was formerly a school janitor in Long Branch. The school suspended Hull after his arrest in August of 2016, but later forfeited his employment following his guilty plea, according to police.
Hull’s arrest was part of a statewide sting targeting child pornography, called Operation Statewide, which arrested 40 individuals throughout the state.
Hull’s offense was reportedly unrelated to his position at the school, according to police.
