BERKELEY – The Township Council adopted an ordinance stating that any mattresses left at the curb for bulk pick up have to be covered.
Mayor Carmen Amato said that this was always the township’s policy, but it wasn’t in the ordinances. The change will explicitly state the policy.
Officials said it was to make sure that the workers picking up the mattresses wouldn’t be exposed to bedbugs.
