Ocean County Woman Arrested For Attempted Murder

  LACEY – A Lacey Township woman has been arrested and charged after firing a gun, causing injuries, police said.

  Around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, authorities arrived at a home on Longwood Drive, Forked River, regarding a report of gun shots fired.

  According to police, 44-year-old Jessica Bartky had fired a handgun in the home in the direction of another individual. As a result, the bullet grazed that person causing minor injuries. The victim refused further medical attention, police said.

  Bartky was arrested at the home and charged with Attempted Murder, four counts of Aggravated Assault, Endangering the Welfare of a Child and Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose.

  Bartky was processed at Lacey Township Police Headquarters and transported to the Ocean County Jail, where she is presently lodged pending a detention hearing.
