Small Plane Crashes In Ocean County, Injuries

LAKEWOOD – A small plane crashed in Ocean County this afternoon in the wooded area at Lakewood Airport, authorities confirmed.

Lakewood Police Captain Gregory Staffordsmith confirmed that just before 4 p.m. on December 19, the department received a call reporting that a plane was down at the Lakewood Airport located on Cedarbridge Avenue.

Staffordsmith said “upon arrival, emergency service responders located a small plane in the wood line with four injured passengers. At this time the extent of injuries are not known nor the reason for the crash.”

Emergency personnel from around the area have responded to the scene.

Ocean County Sheriff Michael Mastronardy told News 12 New Jersey that the family on board suffered minor injuries and the plane overshot the runway and ended up in the woods.
