BERKELEY – A juvenile driver and passenger were injured after a two-vehicle crash Friday evening, police said.
Around 5:54 p.m., police responded to the intersection of Veterans Boulevard and Eastern Boulevard for a motor vehicle crash. Officers discovered a PT Cruiser driven by a 17-year-old female was struck by an Accurate Towing flatbed truck.
Investigation revealed that the PT Cruiser unsafely entered the intersection, which was controlled by a stop sign. It was then struck by the truck which was traveling Eastbound on Veterans Boulevard, police said.
The juvenile driver was airlifted to Jersey Shore Medical Center and the juvenile passenger was transported by ambulance to Jersey Shore Medical Center. Both the driver and passenger are in stable condition, police said.
The crash is still under investigation by Traffic Safety Officer Shane Leighton. Anyone with information is asked to call the Traffic Safety Bureau at 732-341-1132 ext. 2125.
