GALLOWAY – The driver in a hit-and-run crash that claimed a pedestrian has been caught, police said.
Angeletta Sheppard, 33, from Barnegat, was killed just before 8 p.m. on September 12, police said. She was a pedestrian near Route 30 westbound near the intersection with Seventh Avenue.
The vehicle involved in the crash left before Galloway Police arrived, the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office said.
On September 17, Darrell Dean, 61, of Atlantic City, was charged with second-degree Leaving the Scene of a Fatal Motor
Vehicle Accident. The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office did not elaborate on how the driver was found and arrested.
