LAKEHURST – Two Ocean County residents have been arrested and charged after cocaine was found during a traffic stop on July 7, police said.
Around 2 a.m. a Lakehurst Police officer pulled over a Chrysler 300 on Chestnut Street, which was driven by 23-year-old Qurion Kellam of Toms River with 45-year-old Jennifer Serio of Seaside Heights as the passenger.
The car and the two inhabitants were searched. Police found a large quantity of suspected crack cocaine and paraphernalia. Both were placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters.
In addition, authorities searched their motel room at the Express Inn in Lakehurst and recovered a quantity of suspected crack cocaine and paraphernalia.
Kellam and Serio were both charged with Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, Possession of CDS with the intent to distribute CDS, Possession of Imitation CDS with the intent to distribute, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Failure to turn over CDS to the police.
Kellam and Serio were transported to the Ocean County Jail. The currency and vehicle were seized pending civil forfeiture, police said.
All criminal charges are merely accusations, and all subjects are innocent until proven guilty.
