OCEAN COUNTY – A 40-year-old woman died on the Garden State Parkway Friday night in a tragic accident.
New Jersey State Police confirmed Christina M. Citarella of Bayville was driving north in the left lane around 6:30 p.m. when her Toyota Camry ran off the road, hit two sign supports and split in half.
Police said the front section of the Toyota re-entered the parkway, went across all three lanes, and collided with a Jeep Renegade.
Citarella was ejected from her vehicle during the crash and was pronounced at the scene. There is no word yet on what led to the crash and no other details have been released.
The accident remains under investigation.
