
TOMS RIVER – Authorities are currently investigating a shooting incident that happened last night after a man was brought to the hospital with multiple gunshot wounds.
Toms River Township Police Officers arrived at Community Medical Center around 10:15 p.m. regarding an unresponsive male victim.
The victim, identified as 36-year-old Jimmy Mosley of South Toms River, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The investigation revealed that Mosley was dropped off at the hospital in a car and the driver then left the scene. A passenger in the vehicle also left the scene on foot, officials said.
Currently, this is an active and ongoing investigation by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit, Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office High Tech Crime Unit, Toms River Township Police Department, and Ocean County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit. There is no known danger to the public at this time, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer said.
