MANCHESTER – A Howell man was medevacked to a trauma center after his vehicle collided into several township trees.
Police reported that around 1:15 a.m. on February 19, officers, responded to the area of Route 571 and Quarry Road, and observed a Ford Taurus with extensive driver side damage along the property line of 3454 Ridgeway Road.
The investigation revealed that the car’s driver, 21-year-old Sean Page, lost control while taking a curve on Route 571, and impacted a tree. This initial collision caused Page to drive onward into another smaller tree, before coming to rest in a wooded area.
Page was injured and sustained life-threatening injuries. He was not wearing a seatbelt during impact. Page was transported via ambulance to a landing zone, where he was airlifted to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune. He is currently listed in critical condition.
The accident is still under investigation by Patrolman Keith Douglas of the department’s Traffic Safety Unit but at the current time Page’s speed appears to be a contributing factor.
Assisting at the scene were members of the Ridgeway Volunteer Fire Department, Manchester Volunteer Fire Department, Manchester Township Division of Emergency Service EMTs, as well as Robert Wood Johnson Paramedics.
