HOWELL – Howell High School Principal Jeremy Braverman published a notice yesterday stating the school has its first positive COVID-19 case for the 2021-2022 school year.
“Immediately upon notification of the positive test result, the administration, school nurse and the Local Health Department conducted contact tracing to determine if the person with a positive test result had close contact with any other persons while at school,” Braverman wrote in a letter.
The school has quickly notified those in close contact with the positive individual and asks those families to connect with the health department.
“We ask that the community refrain from spreading rumors and false information regarding positive cases,” the letter states.
According to the Freehold Regional High School District Restart and Recovery Plan, all areas of Howell High School will be sanitized with special attention to high touch areas and where the infected person was present.
Staff and students will continue to wear face masks an maintain social distancing. It’s asked that all members of the school community monitor themselves for COVID-19 symptoms.
After speaking with the health department, Howell High School students and staff will continue to attend classes and activities as scheduled.
