
STAFFORD – An investigation is underway into a motorcycle accident that sent a Tuckerton man to a hospital via medical chopper.
Stafford Township Police confirmed the solo motorcycle crash happened at around 6:48 p.m. on April 10 on Route 72 east near the Route 9 on-ramp.
Police said 53-year-old Robert Perotti was riding his 2004 Suzuki motorcycle when he struck the curb at the merge of the ramp.
The preliminary investigation confirmed Perotti was thrown from the motorcycle and sustained serious injuries.
A retired combat medic was traveling in the area and was able to provide life saving measures until police and paramedics arrived on scene.
Police said Perotti was flown to Robert Wood Johnson hospital in New Brunswick for his injuries, and is in an unknown condition at this time. He was not wearing an approved helmet at the time of the collision.
