
ASBURY PARK – A man has been arrested and charged for stabbing two teenaged victims during a fight outside Asbury Park High School.
The Asbury Park Police Department responded to a call on March 9 about a fight that had broke out at the high school. When police arrived at the scene, they found two males, 17 and 18 years old, with stab wounds. Both victims remain hospitalized as a result of their injuries, according to police.
Later, police were able to locate the suspect. Jadon Carter, 20, of Asbury Park, was taken to the Asbury Park Police Department.
Carter was charged with two counts of first-degree Attempted Murder and fourth degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon.
If convicted of Attempted Murder, Carter faces up to 20 years on each charge in a New Jersey state prison. If convicted of Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, the maximum potential sentence is a term of 18 months in New Jersey State Prison.
The case is being investigated by members of the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office and the Asbury Park Police Department. Despite these charges, every defendant is presumed innocent, unless and until found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
