Cops: Little Egg Home Used To Distribute Drugs

  LITTLE EGG HARBOR – Police said a township home was being used to store and distribute methamphetamine and heroin.

  A two-month investigation culminated in a no-knock search warrant on a home on Feb. 21, where the home was visited by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Strike Force, Ocean County Regional SWAT Team, and Little Egg Harbor Police Department Drug Enforcement Unit. The officers seized approximately 18 grams of methamphetamine and two grams of heroin. 

  John Sharpe, 35, of Little Egg Harbor, was charged with Possession of Methamphetamine in an Amount Greater than One-Half Ounce but Less than Five Ounces with Intent to Distribute; Possession of Methamphetamine; Possession of Heroin; and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was released due to the state’s bail reform laws.

  Tara Giberson, 34, also of Little Egg Harbor, was charged with Possession of Methamphetamine in an Amount Greater than One-Half Ounce but Less than Five Ounces with Intent to Distribute; Possession of Methamphetamine; Possession of Heroin; and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Giberson is currently lodged in the Ocean County Jail on an unrelated pending matter.

  The defendants are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

  Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer thanked the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Strike Force, Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Asset Forfeiture Unit, Ocean County Regional SWAT Team, Little Egg Harbor Police Department, Little Egg Harbor Drug Enforcement Unit, Little Egg Harbor Detective Bureau and Patrol Division, Stafford Township Police Department K-9 Unit, and the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office.
