TOMS RIVER – Downtown Toms River will be looking even more festive after today’s tree lighting ceremony.
The event will take place at 4:45 p.m., on the steps of the Ocean County Administration Building at 101 Hooper Ave.
Thousands of lights will set off the big Norway spruce at the corner of the Hooper and Washington Street.
The South Toms River Elementary Chorus will perform holiday songs. After the ceremony, hot apple cider and Christmas cookies will be available inside the Administration Building, provided by the Ocean County Vocational-Technical Schools culinary arts students.
“We invite everyone to join us as we celebrate the season of giving and joy,” said Ocean County Freeholder Director Virginia E. Haines. “I look forward to this wonderful time of year and lighting our beautiful County tree.”
