LAKEWOOD – Pablo Rivera, 33 and Milca Bermudez, 54, of Lakewood, were arrested on Aug. 26 at their 215 Kennedy Blvd. residence for their role in a fraudulent credit card scheme.
Lakewood Police Capt. Gregory Staffordsmith of the department’s Detective Bureau/Internal Affairs/Media Relations reported Thursday that an investigation into the occupants of 215 Kennedy Blvd. was launched after the owner of FoodEx reported a pattern of suspicious home delivery orders over the last two months.
Both suspects would place fairly large orders for cleaning supplies and then cancel the stolen credit card charge after the items were delivered.
Detective Kevin Martin continued on with the investigation which resulted in the arrests and recovery of supplies all believed to be part of the ring from several local food markets including, FoodEx, Gourmet Glatt, Seasons and Kosher Village.
The investigation is ongoing and additional arrests are expected according to Staffordsmith.
