LAVALLETTE – For those of you who can’t get enough of the reality TV drama, there is good news: MTV’s Jersey Shore could be launching a spinoff series in another local shore town.
The cast and crew of MTV’s ‘Jersey Shore’ are looking to film a spinoff of the popular reality series in Lavallette. According to township officials, 495 Productions has requested to film another season of the series, ‘Jersey Shore Family Vacation,’ on private property in Lavallette.
The official request will be discussed at the Aug. 5 council meeting.
The production company is also looking at a potential filming location in Mays Landing in Atlantic County.
The popular MTV series ‘Jersey Shore’ first premiered back in 2009, remaining on air until 2012. Six years after the show ended, the cast was reunited for the filming of ‘Jersey Shore Family Vacation’, which aired two seasons in 2018.
Since then, reality TV buffs have followed the stars off-camera, including watching the decline of JWoww’s marriage and seeing Mike ‘The Situation’ Sorrentino head off to prison for tax evasion.
The new season could begin filming for three to five days in August, should 495’s request be approved.
Previously, 495 Productions put in requests to film in both Brick Township and Wildwood. Township officials in both locations turned down the request, stating that the show could potentially have a negative impact of the local community and did not align with the values in the community.
