BUFFALO – A Freehold man has been indicted on 29 counts related to child pornography and cyberstalking.
Timothy Myers, 34, was charged with the production, receipt and distribution of child pornography, sexual enticement of minors, and cyberstalking, U.S. Attorney James P. Kennedy, Jr. said Monday.
The charges carry a minimum of 5 years in prison and a maximum penalty of life in prison, and a $250,000 fine.
According to Assistant U.S. Attorney Stephanie Lamarque, between December 2016 and August 2017, Myers pretended to be a younger male, using the names CJ Mikowski and Colin James, who targeted girls as young as 12 years old on Facebook.
The girls were led to believe they were in a romantic relationship with Myers, who then asked for sexually explicit photos of the girls. If the girls did not send those images, or attempted to break off contact, he would threaten to distribute their photos to other people.
In one case, Myers drove one girl from New York to New Jersey for sex on two occasions. There are at least five other victims identified from the Western District of New York.
