SEASIDE HEIGHTS – A Seaside Heights man was recently arrested for failing to register as a sex offender, announced Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer.
Robert Hudson, 40, was arrested by Seaside Heights Police on March 20.
“Since 1994, Megan’s Law requires certain offenders to register with their local police departments whenever they move and/or change their residential address. Failure to comply with this obligation is a third degree crime,” said Prosecutor Billhimer.
Police said that Hudson moved from his previous address without registering as a sex offender or notifying local law enforcement.
Hudson is currently lodged in the Ocean County Jail.
“My office, in conjunction with local police departments will be vigilant in making sure individuals required to register under Megan’s Law are in compliance with their obligations,” Prosecutor Billhimer said.
Anyone with information regarding this case or any other Megan’s Law violations should contact Detective John Argento of the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office at 732-929 2027 ext. 2903.
