TRENTON — The former chief financial officer for a nonprofit that helped individuals with autism was sentenced to 3 years in state prison Friday for stealing funds for personal use.
Peter Pflug, 56, of Freehold, must also pay full restitution—about $115,000—to New Horizons in Autism. He pleaded guilty back in January to using the nonprofit’s credit cards and checking accounts for personal use but recording the purchases as items for the group homes run by the nonprofit.
He was sentenced March 22 by Superior Court Judge Ellen Torregrossa-O’Connor in Monmouth County, New Jersey Attorney General Gurbir S. Grewal said.
New Horizons in Autism, a nonprofit based in Monmouth County, receives most of its funding through a contract with The New Jersey Division of Developmental Disabilities.
