Ocean County Parking Garage Death Confirmed Suicide

TOMS RIVER – A 38-year-old Toms River man jumped to his death from the Ocean County parking garage Thursday.

The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office confirmed the suicide of Richard Hernon, who jumped from the top level of the parking garage around 8 p.m. March 7.

Police were called to the garage at 119 Hooper Ave. after a report of a male laying on the ground with severe head trauma.

Both Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer and Ocean County Sheriff Michael Mastronardy confirmed it a suicide after watching security camera footage.
