JACKSON – Police are investigating a single-vehicle crash that left the driver dead Tuesday night.
The unidentified vehicle crashed into a tree near 186 West Veterans Highway. Jackson Township Police responded to the scene around 9:16 p.m. Jan. 8.
When police arrived, they found the unidentified driver sitting in the driver’s seat, unresponsive. Officers and emergency crews from the Whitesville Fire Department, Cassville Fire Department, Quality Medical Unit, and MONOC Paramedics extricated the driver. He was transported to Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus in Lakewood, where emergency rooms doctors pronounced him dead.
It is unknown at this time why the driver crashed.
