HOWELL – Following on the heels of several retail closures in the township, Howell will soon see the end of another store. The Barnes & Noble on Route 9 has decided against renewing its lease for the store in the Lanes Mill Marketplace.
The Barnes & Noble’s lease will be up at the end of the year and the 24,630 square foot location will soon become available.
Sources stated that there is no word yet on when Barnes & Noble plans to close their doors.
Jersey Shore Online reported in August on the surprise closure of the Howell Ruby Tuesday on Route 9. Also in August, Howell’s Best Buy store announced they would close their doors in November of this year.
Barnes & Noble is yet another big retail name leaving the township. However, officials noted other retailers have already expressed interest in the soon-to-be-available location.
