BRICK – The Bon-Ton in the Brick Plaza bids a Bonne Nuit.
The message was posted late this afternoon to Brick Plaza’s Facebook page.
“We’re sad to say that as of today Bon Ton will be closed for business. It has been a pleasure to have them as a part of the Brick Plaza family. Stay tuned for further updates!” the page said.
The parent company, located in York, Pennsylvania, declared bankruptcy and has plans to close all its stores. Earlier this year, the company cited its massive debt load and competition from online retailers like Amazon.com as the reasons for its demise, a CNBC report said.
The store took over the spot of another retailer, Steinbach’s, which itself went out of business back in 1999.
