LACEY – A Tuckerton man was arrested on kidnapping and other charges.
Kevin Johnson, 52, was charged with kidnapping, burglary and aggravated assault in connection with a June 12 incident.
He was arrested in Toms River and taken to Ocean County Jail July 27.
Police responded to a Caldwell Avenue, Forked River, home on June 12 after a man reported being kidnapped. The man was not there and police gathered limited information there.
The victim, who police did not name, arrived at Lacey Police headquarters and reported that he was assaulted and kidnapped in Seaside Heights, suffering extensive injuries to his face and leg. He was allegedly assaulted while waiting in a vehicle for a female companion.
Johnson allegedly entered that vehicle and struck the victim multiple times and then forced him into another vehicle, where he continued to be assaulted. The man eventually escaped from the car in Forked River.
An investigation led police to arrest Johnson.
