LAKEHURST – The Dollar General store in the borough was recently the scene of two seperate shoplifting incidents on the same day.
Police tell Jersey Shore Online that 27-year-old Melissa D. Fillingim of Seaside Heights shoplifted from the Dollar General on June 22.
Police determined that Fillingim placed several items in her purse that she did not intend to pay for. She also has an active warrant for her arrest from Freehold Township Municipal Court.
She was arrested by Officer Madelyn Waltz and issued a summons for that charge. Fillingim was released pending a mandatory court appearance.
On the same day, June 22, 34-year-old John M. Kendrick II of Lakehurst was arrested by Officer John Kurdes for allegedly shoplifting at the same store. Police say he also exhibited signs of being under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance.
He was charged with being under the influence of CDS and issued a summons for the charges. Kendrick was released pending a mandatory court appearance.
