FREEHOLD – If you are in the market for a day of family fun and excitement, stop by the Monmouth County Fair on July 25-29 at East Freehold Showgrounds. This fair offers up old-fashioned country fair vibes with a modern flair, highlighting the area’s agricultural roots.
Organized by the Monmouth County Park System in cooperation with the Monmouth County 4-H, the fair boasts rides, exciting performances and acts, food, games, a 4-H show and live music.
Join in for the Hell on Wheels BMX Stunt Show, Wheel of Destiny, and returning favorites like Hilby the Skinny German Juggle Boy, Mutts Gone Nuts, Robinson’s Racing Pigs, and Bwana Jim’s Wildlife Show.
Rides will feature a special Kids Zone Area and a ride wristband gets you unlimited rides to enjoy with the family. The cost per day for a wristband is $25 on Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday; and $30 on Friday and Saturday. Single ride tickets will also be available daily.

- Wednesday: Moroccan Sheepherders
- Thursday: Chuck Lambert Band
- Friday: Musicians on a Mission
- Saturday: the Jimmy Buffet and Friends Tribute Band
- Sunday: ViRAGO Music Celtic Trio.
You can find that traditional county fair atmosphere at the Home and Garden Competition. Along with baked goods, vegetables, flowers and arts and craft pieces, there will also be beekeeping, gardening and pottery demonstrations.
If you’re a history buff, there is something at the fair for you too. Visit the Living History Tent and meet with staff from the Park System’s Historic Walnford in Upper Freehold and Historic Longstreet Farm in Holmdel. Discover the county’s rich agricultural history through hands-on activities, demonstrations and exhibits.
Hours are 5-11 p.m. Wed-Fri and 3-11 p.m., Sat., 11 a.m.-6 p.m., Sun. Admission is $8 per person; children 12 and under are free.
