BRICK – A Toms River man is dead after his motorcycle collided with a car on Sunday morning.

Police say 18-year-old Christopher M. Marino Jr. was riding his Suzuki GSX north on Brick Boulevard near Hooper Avenue. A Honda CRV driven by 77-year-old George Osgoodby of Lakewood was in the process of turning left into the Bay Harbor Plaza when Marino’s motorcycle crashed into the passenger side of the SUV. The impact caused the CRV to overturn onto its side, trapping Osgoodby and his 76-year-old wife Patricia inside.

Several patrol units from Brick Township arrived at the scene along with MONOC Paramedics, Brick Fire Companies 21, 22 and 23 as well as the Silverton Fire Compan 29. They were able to extricate the passengers of the car. They treated at the scene and sent to Jersey Shore University Medical Center complaining of back pain. Their injuries are said to be non life threatening.

Marino died of his injuries at the scene. Police believe speed may have contributed to the crash.

The incident is under investigation by the Brick Township Police Department’s Traffic Safety Unit and the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Vehicular Homicide Unit. The Ocean County Medical Examiner’s Office along the Sheriff Department’s, Criminal Investigation Unit responded to process the scene.

Traffic was closed for about two hours in the area but the road has been reopened.
