MONMOUTH COUNTY – A Brick man has been arrested and charged with disturbing the remains of a woman.
The body of 35-year-old Jamie Leis was found near Brighton Avenue and Rockefeller Drive on May 17. Police arrested Edward Ramirez, 51, in connection with that discovery. He was charged with disturbing human remains, the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office said.
Police received a report at 10:29 a.m. that day that a wrapped body was found. The prosecutor’s office said there were no visible injuries to Leis. At press time, authorities were awaiting results of an autopsy.
