FREEHOLD – Detectives are seeking help from the public in identifying the suspect(s) of a shooting that occurred in Asbury Park on May 29, where one male victim was injured. This is an ongoing investigation, according to police officials.
On the afternoon of May 29, Asbury Park Police responded to a report of gun shots fired near the area of 1400 Main St., where they found a 2017 Nissan Altima with one gun-shot to the driver’s side door. Police also reported a gun-shot to a garbage can near the south side of 1400 Main St.
The vehicle reportedly did not belong to the injured male victim, who later approached the Neptune Township Police Department suffering from a non-life threatening gun-shot wound to the leg. He was then taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center for treatment.
