MANCHESTER – A 30-year-old Ocean Township woman was arrested for a hit-and-run accident.
Stephanie Smith was charged with eluding police, and also written summonses for driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, failure to maintain a lane, leaving the scene of an accident and failure to report an accident.
She’s being lodged at the Ocean County Jail.
Smith, driving a Chevy Blazer, allegedly struck two vehicles Thursday evening while they were stopped at Colonial Drive and Route 37. She then ran into the guardrail in front of Lakehurst Diner before going into oncoming traffic on Route 70.
Manchester Police were able to pull her over before Smith could cause a traffic accident.
