LAKEHURST – A Whiting man was busted on drug charges in Lakehurst Tuesday.
Todd E. Rendzio, 40, was stopped by Officer Jason Guide for an expired registration. Rendzio gave a fake name and birth date to avoid arrest on outstanding warrants. Guide also saw Rendzio exhibiting signs of being under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance.
Rendzio was searched drug paraphernalia was found. Police searched the vehicle and found 31 wax folds of heroin, a crack pipe and $17,778.92.
Police charged Rendzio with possession with intent to distribute heroin, possession of heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia, being under the influence of CDS and hindering his own apprehension.
Rendzio also had six motor vehicle summonses for: unregistered vehicle, obstruction of view, driving while suspended, unlicensed driver, failure to exhibit driver’s license and possession of CDS in a motor vehicle.
His 2015 Honda Civic and the cash was seized, pending civil forfeiture proceedings.
Rendzio was processed at Lakehurst Police Headquarters and lodged in Ocean County Jail pending a mandatory court appearance in the county’s Superior Court.
