POINT PLEASANT BORO – The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Fire Investigators and the Point Pleasant Police are investigating a fatal house fire in that resulted in the death of one individual on Jan. 3.
The house, located on the 1000 block of Ridgefield Drive, caught fire sometime before 2 a.m. The home was engulfed in flames as firefighters fought to put it out and it was eventually extinguished.
Inside, officials found a man in his mid-sixties deceased. The man reportedly lived alone in the home and his identity is unknown, pending notification of his next of kin.
The investigation of the cause of the fire is still ongoing, but the OCPO notes that there is nothing definitive to report at this time.
